I have always been in awe about the simplicity and harmony brought to a home by repetitive Moroccan geometric patterns. This season, my hope was to design a floral cushion cover. But one that remains simple and goes hand in hand with my geometric cushion covers. (After all, in an increasingly complex and busy world, if we are taking the effort to add something, I felt it's best that it's kept simple and uncomplicated!)
"Ezra" the red & beige floral cushion cover like most designs, came about after a sketch followed by Adobe illustrator. (It's the floral cushion cover shown just below. The picture is of the waterproof outdoor cushion cover set. As always we have both indoor and outdoor versions of all designs). As seen on my pinterest inspiration board below, I wanted pops of red on a neutral backdrop. Like flowers blossomed in the "Sahara"... That's the randomly scattered sand/beige leaves with bright cherry red blooms here and there in my floral design. Complimenting the same theme, the "Sahara" set includes a neutral sand/beige geometric cushion cover (Clifton) together with IKAT dome cushion cover (UMA) with red highlights on sand/beige and white.
The choice of colours - Cherry Red and Sand/Beige - had another reason behind it. With my range at ZAHAARA Sanctuary I have always focused on punchy/trendy colours which can update any room with a trendy theme. Every time I looked for a gift for someone from my collection, I wondered "how do I know if Orange is the colour theme they want in there living room?). I wished I had a set which can blend in with most atmospheres. So this year, I side stepped a little from my most loved edgy/outstanding colours, and included the SAHARA range which is more of a CLASSIC balance that can easily blend in with many rooms.
